Save the Bees
Cross Media Campaign
Year 4 University Project
The project
The Save the Bees campaign aims to raise awareness about the significant decline of bee populations, and to help the audience take real action. The project uses a range of platforms to create an immersive, cross media production. This includes a virtual reality simulation, an information pack, seeds to plant, a website and social media presence. These platforms engage the audience through their interactivity. Together, they inform the audience about the issue of bee-decline, and provide them with practical ways to make a positive impact.

What is cross media?
Cross media production enables audiences to better engage with projects, stories and campaigns across a variety of platforms. By creating unique content specifically for certain platforms, and establishing bridges between them, the ‘storyworld’ can become highly immersive, informative and encourage continued interest and participation from the audience.
The team
This project was completed as a team. I was the project manager, designed the website, info and seed packs, coordinated social media and created the documentation. My team members developed storyboards for the VR simulation, created the trailer and also contributed to the documentation. We were invited by the university to present our project at SCANZ2017, an event that focuses on environmental issues and how positive action can be implemented on a larger community scale.
